Nike SB’s Not Here by Luck series, produced by Wasted Talent Magazine, focuses on women’s skateboarding, its title being a direct response to the bullshit criticism so many sponsored women in skateboarding face. Past episodes have featured Sarah Meurle in Paris and members of the Nike SB Euro women’s team at SLS Rio. This one is from the London premiere of Gizmo, the rad all-women’s full-length that Nike just put out. It also features an interview with Meurle, as well as some time with Elissa Steamer, Nicole Hause, and filmmaker Jason Hernandez. Plus plenty of sick b-roll, including a bit of Leticia, Elissa, and Sarah at the glorious patch of concrete that is Mile End skatepark. And you already know they hit the go-kart track next door, too. Anyway, this video is a great look behind the scenes at Gizmo, and if you needed any further proof that luck has nothing to do with these women’s success in skateboarding, go watch the damn thing and see how hard they all worked for it.
