“A small community of skaters in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq want to further develop skateboarding in their country by building a community skatepark.

In a region affected by conflict, skateboarding offers an alternative to the politics of war – it brings people together and gives them a passion. Suli Skatepark will provide youth a safe space for free expression.”

Suli Skatepark is a new, free access community skatepark for the community in Sulaymaniyah. The IndieGoGo campaign which went live just days ago has already got over a 1,000 bucks of its overall $22,500 target. As always, donors get all manner of goodies for helping build the Make Life Skate Life skatepark in Suli, including the feeling of doing something seriously beautiful for a skate community elsewhere.
