To celebrate the one year anniversary of Free Movement Skateboarding‘s work with refugees and locals in Athens, Greece, they’ve teamed up with Eloise Dörr to release a seriously limited (just fifty pieces) run of skate decks and t-shirts. All profits go directly to their work in Athens, so get them before they disappear forever.
“This is the first of many artist collaborations”, says Free Movement Skateboarding. “Each one a very short run, that may never be repeated. We want to push the brightest and best upcoming artists up the ranks with these collabs, while all the while generating support for our own work empowering refugees.”
The deck launch comes with a full redesign of Free Movement Skateboarding’s website and branding, incorporating the world of Eloise Dörr in the former’s design. Her silhouetted characters can be seen bombing the streets of Athens, the Acropolis in the distance, in a scene of empowerment and integration. The spirit of what Free Movement Skateboarding are doing.
Artist Eloise Dörr herself said: “Free Movement Skateboarding is an incredible charity doing amazing things. I wanted my work to reflect the confidence and expression that skateboarding gives the kids they work with, hence you can see these characters rolling through Athens like they own the place.”
You can own one of these boards yourself for just £50, or a T-shirt for £20. Skate it, hang it, whatever. Just know that that money goes directly to empowering, integrating and promoting the wellbeing of refugees and young locals in Athens.
