KREUZBERG, BERLIN – 18 January: You are invited to celebrate the release of SKATEISM Issue 3 and 25 Years of IRIEDAILY, at the IRIEDAILY BRAND STORE in Kreuzberg. It’s going to be a wild night, with DJs, drinks and an one-off conversation with SKATEISM, SKATEISTAN & SKATE GIRLS BERLIN about Staying Different in Skateboarding.
The Diversity Skateboarding Magazine
SKATEISM is the first of its kind, an entire magazine dedicated to diversity and DIY in skateboarding. SKATEISM first came into print exactly one year ago, and has since gone from strength to strength, working with the likes of Leo Baker, Unity Skateboards, Skateistan, IRIEDAILY and many more, to tell stories which level the playing field for the “Underground and Overlooked, the Weird and the Wonderful” in skateboarding today.
“Skateboarding is about more than dudes jumping down handrails.” says Oisín Tammas, editor-in-chief of SKATEISM. “It’s about freethinking, experimentation and pushing boundaries – in every sense of the word. A culture which cannot be inclusive to all people, no matter what their background or identity, is not true to skateboarding’s roots.” Issue 3 once again holds diversity and DIY projects in skateboarding at pride-of-place, with female pro Jenn Soto on the cover, and inside…well you’ll just have to wait and see. Everybody who attends this event will get a copy of SKATEISM #3 absolutely FREE.
25 Years of IRIEDAILY
This January, Berlin skate and street brand IRIEDAILY celebrate a quarter-century in the game. The 18th January at their new BRAND STORE in Kreuzberg, will be one important part of their month’s celebratory programming: a series of events promoting their message for the past 25 years – Stay Different – in collaboration with SKATEISM.
Stay Different – In Conversation…
SKATEISM and IRIEDAILY come together, with the help of SKATEISTAN and SKATE GIRLS BERLIN, to have a candid conversation about the way skateboarding is rolling today. Oisín Tammas (editor-in-chief), Sam McGuire (photo-editor) & Moch Simos (founder/art-director) will lead the chat, conversing with the people behind these incredible projects.
