Following the success of the first re:deckorate exhibition in Glasgow 2018, selling all 50 boards exhibited and raising £4000 for SkatePal; SkatePal and re:ply Skateboards have teamed up to bring you re:deckorate (London) — an exhibition of recycled skateboards reimagined and redesigned by talented artists, graphic designers, printmakers and photographers from the global skateboarding community to raise money for SkatePal as well as showcase artists from the skateboarding community.
“All re:ply skateboards are upcycled, rejuvenated, old or used skateboards. We see base material where others see waste! Skatepal is a non-profit charity organisation, working with communities throughout Palestine to enhance the lives of young people and promote the benefits of skateboarding.”
60+ artists were given the opportunity to exhibit their art on a recycled re:ply board, whilst interpreting through their chosen media the concepts of “Opportunity”, “Equality”, “Palestine”, “Conscience” and “Progression”. These concepts are strongly represented within skateboarding culture and form a huge part of the SkatePal ethos.
The exhibition will be on show to the public in Jam in a Jar (Harringey) from the launch on Saturday 16th February until Saturday 16th March. All boards are made available to purchase throughout the exhibition.
