The whispers are true, Project Session – the 100% independent skateboarding simulator game – is coming!
Crea-ture Studio’s unique dual-stick skateboard simulator has caused a stir online in recent months as the game edges closer and closer to a reality. Now, thanks to their Early Grab campaign on Kickstarter, crea-ture Studios has well and truly pushed past their 80k goal to make Project Session. That means it’s coming, ladies and gents, and it’s all thanks to real skaters.
We wouldn’t normally cover video games since they’re hardly off-the-beaten track of skateboarding, but this isn’t like EA or Activision’s franchises. Project Session is 100& independent, beginning life with just two guys coding and rendering themselves silly, trying to make a skateboard game for skateboarders – end of. And there’s already a playable demo.
As it currently stands, Project Session is going to be the most realistic skateboarding game to date, utilising a dual-stick control system which is a bit like Skate taken to the extreme. Each stick controls one foot, and as the player progresses the tricks become cleaner, more consistent and better executed. The dream of crea-ture Studios was to make a skateboarding game with all the feeling and soul of skateboarding in real life, and it comes with all the following features:
-
Dual stick controls: one per foot.
-
Balance system: find the sweet spot to stop bailing or slowing down manuals and grinds.
-
No scoring system: get fucked, it’s all rad.
-
Video editing: edit and share videos online.
-
Day and Night Cycle: set up spotlights to film tricks while mom’s sleeping.
You’d think that’d be enough wouldn’t you? But oh no, Project Session want to develop this into a full-scale, multi-city, customizable mega game – potentially blowing the seemingly disinterested competition out of the water for good. And we can help make it happen.
THE STRETCH GOALS:
