Make Life Skate Life, an international NGO which constructs skateparks and implements skate programs around the world, announced the building of the first free-of-charge public skatepark in Lebanon. Following a relief fund in support of the skate community after the explosion in the port of Beirut in August 2020, a team of local skaters and international volunteer skatepark builders have come together to bring Snoubar (Pine Tree) Skatepark to reality.

The Snoubar Skatepark project is a collaborative effort between Make Life Skate Life, local NGO arcenciel, and the Municipality of Beirut to build and sustain a free community skatepark at the urban park Horsh in the center of the capital city. Lebanon is one of the few countries in the Middle East with no public skatepark. With the growth of skateboarding in Beirut and almost zero access to public space, there is an urgent need for a safe space for skateboarding. In collaboration with local NGOs Arcenciel and Just Childhood Snoubar Skatepark will offer classes to children and young adults who live in the Shatila refugee camp, located right next to the future skatepark.
Snoubar Skatepark hopes to participate in the renewal of a country hit by the explosion of 2020 and an unprecedented economic and political crisis.

Major thanks to the many individuals who have donated their time and efforts, and to the donors who are supporting the project including Decathlon Foundation, Air France, and CHPO Brand.
