J. Grant Brittain, skate photographer, began snapping at Del Mar, CA; the historical and infamous skatepark at Del Mar played host to many of today’s skate legends, and Brittain was lucky enough to capture many of them in their heydays.
Photography in skateboarding can become slightly homogenised, fashions come and go, and with them the style of photography therein develops and changes. That said, Brittain, since the age of 25, has been rumbling along despite styles and fads in skateboarding, to develop his own unique style; which offers a beautiful and true-to-the-art depiction of skateboarding, across the decades.
