Our friends over at Grey skate mag are presenting a new short documentary by Jago Stock called ‘Freedom To Flourish’. The documentary is following the impact of the new Freedom Skatepark in Kingston, Jamaica, a skatepark built by the amazing team of Concrete Jungle Foundation.
Through interviews with local staff, kids who skate the park as well as parents, the film shows how skateparks are much more than just a recreational space, as they can also be used for community building and personal growth too. A year after the skatepark’s completion, the team has announced that the park and its programmes are now fully managed by local people.
Recently, CJF also announced their next project, Tameslouht Skatepark. This spring they will be building a skatepark and starting youth programmes for an orphanage in Tameslouht, a village just outside Marrakech, Morocco. Find out more about the new project here.
