It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Dylan, the most effortlessly cool skater to ever shake up the scene either by his fashion or undeniable sleek style on the board.
Jason Dill defined Dylan as a “Downriver” kid. The kid that’s always in the van on tour and in the street getting bloody knees and dirty hands. When Dylan got onto workshop he blended with Dill and Ave’s style of skating who influenced him through his early years on the Workshop. He then flourished into the iconic shredder we know today. A skater with an unfathomable amount of grace – the embodiment of a cool breeze.
At his zenith, Dylan Rieder had the skateboarding world wanting to skate like him, dress like him, and be like him. How many skateboarders in history have had this effect on the game? Natas, The Gonz, Penny? Without any doubts, Dylan is in the same class as these icons. Yes, death is that interminable certainty that looms over us all, but there is another certainty that collectively, we can carry for the rest of our lives…
Legends never die.
Rest easy Dylan Rieder.
