It’s been a wild few months, but we made it. In time for the SKATEISM: Skate Borders exhibition and fundraiser at BRIGHT 2018 in Berlin, Issue One of The Diversity Skateboarding Magazine is complete. It’s been a dream for years, a labour of love which has been a long time coming: to create a whole new genre of skateboarding magazine. We at SKATEISM never wanted to create a magazine that was interested in pros and products, brands and board releases. We wanted to create a magazine that supported the culture: skateboarding culture, the thing that lives on whenever there’s a drop in popularity or a height in commercialism in the industry.

We wanted to create a magazine that supported the underground and the overlooked. A magazine that supported the womxn’s skate scene, LGBT+ communities, queer culture, DIY and skate-aid. We spoke to Leo Baker, Lucas Beaufort, distributors and upcoming brands, charities and photographers. We wanted a magazine that shows the kids the power skateboarding has for good, shows how it saved all our lives, and how it’s still the home of the outcast. So that’s exactly what we made. Into it? Support the project for just €5.
